6. Children //G//

The young child was probably one of the cutest he had seen on the set all day. He had the most adorable dimples and a sweet smile. Despite the collection of cameras that seemed to intimidate most of the other children, this one in particular didn’t seem to be bothered.

“Excuse me,” the child called politely, waiting patiently until the man’s stylist was done fixing him and he was able to turn.

“Yes?” Yunho asked, looking at the child who was calmly waiting for his attention.

“There was a man outside who said to give this to you,” the little boy said, presenting the man with a sealed envelope.

“Oh, thank you,” Yunho mumbled accepting the envelope. The child bowed politely and toddled off to where his mother waited for him. Flipping the envelope in his hand and opening it, he expected to see some carefully written fan mail or gift of some sort. Instead a hastily folded letter slipped free, written in the careful scroll he recognized.

’Yunho,

I know you are filming a new music video for the holidays with a hoard of children. You know how I feel about that. Good luck dealing with all of those kids plus the maknae’s childishness! I have no idea how you plan to get anything done! I can’t wait to see you.

I would write hugs and kisses here but I’m not a woman and what I want to say would be entirely inappropriate so I will simply say,

Sincerely,
Bambi

P.S. the kid that I paid to deliver this is kinda cute. He reminds me of a little you. Maybe we could adopt someone like him in the future.

Yunho folded the letter carefully, feeling his heart melt at the penned declarations. There was only one man who would sign his name as the little stuffed creature that always occupied his bed. “Jaejoong,” he muttered, warmed by the idea that the man might want children with him later. That warmth carried him straight through the day and gave him true smiles of joy to offer the camera.

7. Snowman //PG-13//

“Is that supposed to be Yunho?” Yoochun asked, tipping his head sideways as if it would make the lump of snow resemble something else.

“Yes,” Jaejoong told him, patting another handful of snow onto his creation.

“Does he still have man boobs?” Junsu asked, and then abruptly ducked as Jaejoong’s next handful of snow sailed at his head instead of the snowman. “What? It is a valid question!”

“I happen to like his man boobs,” Jaejoong defended with a huff.

Yoochun patted him lightly on the back. “That is why you have been sleeping with him all these years and not us. Personally if I want a nice pair of breasts, I like the rest of the feminine curves to be present as well.”

Junsu snickered and took another long look at the snowman, “I still don’t see the resemblance to Yunho.”

Jaejoong’s answering grin was wicked, “oh you will.”

His phone, the special prepaid one that made it harder for the company and nosy managers to trace, vibrated in his pocket alerting him to the arrival of a text message. Its presence caused the next twenty minutes of song recording to stretch on forever even if he was simply rapping the same lines over and over again until he got it correct. The words of their producer calling for a break couldn’t come quickly enough and Yunho nearly dashed out of the room so he could check what he had received.

“I think they will probably use one of the last two,” Changmin told him, trying to be supportive, as he handed their leader a bottle of water.

Absently Yunho nodded and sipped at the bottle while fishing the phone out of his pocket. It took him two tries to find the correct one – he knew much more clearly what Jaejoong had felt carrying multiple phones for years – and altogether too long for the device to awaken from its half asleep mode.

There was a message on there from a number that he didn’t dare name with anything other than a single letter, but that he knew by heart. The message contained a picture that took longer than he would have liked to load but the moment it did, he choked on his next mouthful of water and was left sputtering like a fish out of water. On the screen of his phone sat a picture of an incredibly anatomically correct snowman accompanied by the text ‘Look familiar? I can’t wait to play with the real thing. ;D’

“Yunho?” Changmin asked, very likely concerned for his safety.

“I’m fine,” Yunho wheezed, waving him off. The last thing he needed was for the maknae to see Jaejoong’s scarily accurate representation of certain parts of himself.

“Are you sure?” Changmin offered him a look.

“Positive,” Yunho said clearing his throat. Quickly he typed ‘That snow better have been clean!’ and sent the response on its way before slipping the phone back into his pocket. “So back to singing?”

“Sure,” Changmin agreed but the grin he offered the leader showed just how much he knew.

8. Skiing //PG//

“Hey sexy can I hit your slops?” a voice husked behind him, a deep timbre that he knew in the very depths of his soul.

“What are you doing here,” he hissed without turning.

“Enjoying my day off,” the voice purred, and a body pressed into his space.

“We are filming, there are cameras everywhere and SM employees. You are going to get us both into trouble,” he hissed, trying to look pleasant as he approached the counter to purchase a beverage.

“What are they going to do? Slap you on the hand and try to keep us from more promotional outlets. Really there isn’t much else they can block us from,” the man behind him countered confidently.

“We swore,” the leader reminded him.

“I know,” the voice was heavy with regret. “Off the black diamond hill, veer left instead of right. There is a small warming hut down there. None of SM lackeys are there, I checked. I bet we can get at least ten minutes of free time before they haul all of their equipment down there.”

“I’ll meet you there,” he conceded. He caught a glimpse of the man bundled from head to toe in winter gear before Jae left him to get his drinks.

“Yunho?” Changmin asked curiously a few minutes later as the leader handed him a warm paper cup. The younger man had likely noticed the pensive look that he couldn’t entirely hide.

“Let’s try a black diamond run,” Yunho declared, loud enough that the crews could scramble to shift their equipment to the proper location.

“Uh Yunho, we can barely do the basic run. How are we going to manage that?” Changmin asked, looking worried.

“Just think Changmin. The payoff will be so much bigger for the higher challenge,” Yunho told him, offering him a secret smile.

Changmin’s responding look told the older man that the bits of information had all clicked together in him mind and the younger man sighed. “Fine, but Jung Yunho if you get us killed, I will kill him.”

Yunho, in response, simply smiled.

9. Holiday //PG-13//

It was the time of year that he had always loved, and no matter their schedules had insisted that they take the time to decorate for. More times than not, this had involved the sacrifice of valuable sleep in order to do so, a sacrifice they had all been willing to make, primarily for him. Despite their new found freedom, time still seemed to be short, leaving them carrying boxes from storage into his apartment well after dark.

“We are still nuts,” Yoochun muttered, shifting his box and smiling at the jingle that produced.

“Trees do not erect themselves,” Jaejoong replied, juggling the box that was nearly too large for him so he could key in his code.

Yoochun snickered at his choice of words. “You would know all about erecting things,” he teased.

“You two are awful!” Junsu called from behind him, his voice muffled as it traveled through the pile of garland in front of his face.

“Oh please Mr. Intoxication. You hardly have room to talk,” Yoochun shot back.

“That wasn’t my choice!” Junsu defended.

“You still humped the floor,” Jaejoong added as he pushed his door open and trudged into his apartment.

Junsu waited until the door had closed and they had settled their boxes around the rest waiting on the floor before retorting. “Maybe it was a good looking floor,” he countered, not giving into the embarrassment they were trying to arise in him.

“Oh so sexy,” Yoochun teased, than he began to sing. “Kiss and touch me. Taste and touch me.”

“Shut up!” Junsu called, a blush dusting his cheeks.

Jaejoong, shaking his head at the pair, knelt and opened one of the boxes. “Stop flirting and just do each other already or get over here and help me with this tree.” His words made both men color but they obediently moved to the box where they began removing and sorting the branches for a fake tree.

During their decorating Jaejoong became quite the dictator but none of them had ever minded that. The man had a perfectionist nature that would never be satisfied until things were proper. Although it wasn’t quite the same without two of their members, it was enjoyable nonetheless, even if all Yoochun and Junsu did for an entire hour was hand the man branches of fake evergreen.

The tree was finally standing in all of its naked glory, when the click of the door unlocking, barely audible over the soft Christmas music, drew their attention to the front door. There were few people who knew the combination to Jaejoong’s apartment and he knew that none of them had been free that day. His hand closed upon a length of garland, the nearest weapon he could find as they waited for the intruder to make himself known.

“We should really knock,” a familiar voice muttered just beyond the door.

“He gave me the passkey for a reason,” another familiar voice returned.

The garland fluttered from Jaejoong’s fingers and he was across the room mauling the man before he could even make it in their door. Their lips met, hard and urgent with enough strength that they didn’t separate when they were shoved from behind.

“Oh for heaven sakes let us in the door at least,” the maknae grumped, shoving them enough that he could squeeze in and shut the door behind him. Jaejoong noted his words absently as he pulled his lover closer to his body, giving into the kiss and the hands that were working their way beneath his sweater.

“Changmin!” Yoochun said dramatically, moving forward with arms outstretched.

“If you kiss me I will make certain you can sing soprano,” Changmin told him.

“So mean Maknae,” Yoochun pouted.

“I’m glad you guys are here,” Junsu told the youngest honestly, sneaking in for a hug. Changmin hugged him in return for a long moment, before being released so he could shed his coat and shoes.

“This is all the further you got?” Changmin asked looking around the apartment and noting all the boxes and lack of decorations.

“Well you know how Jaejoong is,” Yoochun told him, clapping him on the shoulder.

“We should just start throwing up decorations wherever since he is otherwise occupied,” Changmin suggested with a grin.

“Don’t you dare,” Jaejoong told him, clearly having broken the lip lock long enough to sound threatening. “I will beat you.”

“Would that be before or after you molest our leader?” Changmin countered with a grin.

“Now is good!” Jaejoong called, right before he launched himself from the leader’s hold into the maknae’s direction.

Yunho watched their brotherly struggle with a good natured smile for a moment before moving over to the tree. He picked up a piece of garland and said loud enough that he could clearly be heard over the tussle, “I wonder if we should string this vertically this year.”

Jaejoong, who had Changmin locked in a headlock, paused to glare at the leader. “Don’t you dare,” he warned.

“Well then you best come do something about it,” Yunho told him, twirling the garland playfully.

With an exasperated sigh Jaejoong released his prey and stormed to the leader. “Give me that!” he ordered.

Changmin, finally free, gasped and straightened, checking himself over mentally for damage. Yoochun clapped him on the shoulder a moment later, “I just love the holidays.” Changmin rolled his eyes in response, but found that he couldn’t bring himself to argue.

10. Cacao //PG//

“We did a pretty good job,” Yoochun commented in English, looking around at the festively sparkling room.

Junsu, who had his legs splayed over the other singer nodded and answered in the same language, “Uh, huh.”

Changmin who was stretched out on one of Jaejoong’s lengthy couches offered them a look, “You to watch too much American television.” Neither of the men commented that he would have to watch nearly as much to understand the quote.

“Here we are,” Jaejoong announced, carrying a tray with five steaming mugs on it out into the living room. He distributed them to the two men on the floor, the maknae on the couch, and Yunho who was settled on his loveseat before settling in with the leader with his own in hand.

“Oh I have missed Jaejoong’s cooking the most,” Changmin moaned, sniffing the mug and dragging the bowl of homemade party mix closer to himself. “Yunho sucks as a cook.”

“Which is why we have take out so much that we are both getting fat,” Yunho agreed, hooking his free arm around Jaejoong’s shoulders and pulling the man in close. The singer snuggled down at his side and sipped at the warm liquid in his mug before reaching for the remote.

Yunho smiled as the old American Christmas movie was cued up and played out for them, a group tradition that ended every yearly decorating session. He raised the mug to his lips and sipped at the warm liquid. He expected the rich chocolate flavor that hit his tongue, but the kick of spicy heat that chased it away surprised him.

“What in the world is this?” Changmin asked, clearly having tasted his own mug.

“It’s called Mexican Hot Chocolate,” Jaejoong told them, pronouncing the English words carefully. He sounded all together proud of himself and Yunho had to admit that every sip of his cup reminded him of the man curled against him. Changmin didn’t protest and sipped at the drink enough to prove that he didn’t hate the idea of it.

Yunho sighed and enjoyed the warmth in the room even if it was four am in the morning and they would likely all regret the lack of sleep at some point the next day. It was nice to be together as five again after so long. Someday, Yunho promised himself, they would be like this every year without any sneaking around behind their companies back.

Still he enjoyed the companionship they could share at the moment and the sound of his band members simply enjoying one another’s company, even if Yoochun made himself mildly obnoxious by chanting, “You’ll put your eye out,” with the movie.
